...is able to burn cds? I was able to copy a music cd into a folder which is in a folder called music (which is in my /home/donjulio folder). However when I tried the cdrecord command, I got something saying permission was denied, make sure I am the root user. So I re-recorded the cd into a file in the root directory (after becoming root) and it worked fine. Is there any way to make it so I can burn a cd with my regular user account instead of becoming the root user?

It may be to give your user usergroup permissions on that directory by using CHOWN, not sure and would want to try unless a guru tells you to. Ask your host,
